As you can probably tell, we are all pretty excited for our 4th annual Cupcake Day. I wanted to take a moment and remind you of the true meaning of this glorious holiday, helping Chicago’s homeless pets. The Anti-Cruelty Society is this city’s oldest and largest animal welfare organization (and the best in my opinion, but I may be a little biased). Watching the love and devotion that my coworkers selflessly put forth on a daily basis makes me very proud to call the Society my home. On that note, let’s go over some Cupcake Day math:
Every $25 raised provides food, water and care for a cat for a day. The average stay for a kitty here at The Anti-Cruelty Society is about 30 days; it costs a lot to feed all of these hungry mouths!
Every $50 raised helps vaccinate a shelter dog. Dogs leave here with all of their age appropriate vaccines including: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella and a dewormer.
Every $100 raised will allow the Society to neuter one male kitty, did you know our veterinarians spayed/neutered over 8,000 pets in 2015!?
Every $225 raised will assist in a spay surgery for a female dog, that’s a lot of Cupcake sales, better get baking!
So have fun baking and remember any donation helps us fulfill our mission of building a community of caring by helping pets and educating people.
